Christmas and my new Etsy Shop

It has been a while since my last post.. But now I am back! I have had so much fun creating miniatures for Christmas and I am starting to really feel an cozy Christmas atmosphere!

And I also have some exciting news! Fist of all... I am going to become a mother in February :) ! It is really amazing that there will be a little one in our home in about two months <3 !

... And secondly I finally have opened an Etsy store! Its very exciting and now I just hold my thumbs, that peaople will find it and like my miniatures. Right now I have stated to fill it with my newly created Christmas miniatures!

A sneak peak at my Tennyson dollhouse

These last months I have been working a lot so I haven't had time to update my blog, but here comes a sneak peak at my ongoing project, the Tennyson dollhouse.

I have made roof shingles from egg carton and glued them to my porch roof, I then used different shades och gray when I painted them. Now I "only" have to make roof shingles for the rest of the house roof.... I will need a lot of egg cartons ..So there will be a lot of omelets ;)

I think that the miniatures are the most fun to do so I started to do them even though there is much left to do on the building's exterior. Here is a tiny birdhouse made in clay (my favorite medium) which I then painted and aged. Then I also made the religieuse pastries, which was fun to make. The white flowers are made by Michelle in Greece, they are so beautiful! I only painted the pot so it would fit in my color theme.

In a few days I will have more photos to post here!

A package with treasures

Today I got a package from Greece with stunning miniature flowers that Michelle at http://littlerabbitminis.blogspot.com made! I won them last week in her giveaway, isn´t they amazing! They are even more beautiful than in the picture an will look just perfect in front of my Tennyson dollhouse

Other than that I have been busy working on miniature orders, mostly fruits and a giveaway of my own. I haven´t finished it yet but I think I will soon...

Baking miniatures

Here is my latest minis, cupcakes! I love to experiment with the textures in miniature food and this set gave me a lot of fun!

As you can see on the picture below the cupcakes are pretty tiny and a couple of times when I worked with them they fell from my table... before they got in the oven, now that is a test for even the most patient person! Luckily I could finish them at the end.

I also experimented with different backgrounds when I took the photos, the first photo here is with a picture of a kitchen in a magazine as background, what do you think about it?

I like the effect but I didn't got a good contrast in the photo.

Golden butter bundt cake & cherries ~ Gyllene sockerkaka & körsbär

This is the latest of my miniature creations, a golden butter bundt cake filled with cherries and a tiny chocolate heart. It was so fun to make and I think I got the color right which makes a world of difference in miniature food. I also make a few servings, have a bite!

One thing is a bit tricky though... to take the photos in the right light so that they wont get overexposed. When I got more time I am thinking of building a light box and experiment a bit more with my photographs.

Valentine´s day chocolates and one year older!

This weekend I got time to finish these Valentine´s day chocolates and boxes. To be my firsts I like the result and the chocolates where so fun to make!

Now I really feel for some real chocolate :) Luckily for me I have a really good metabolism and never gets heavier even if I love sweets!

The last two day´s my sister and her lovely kids

have visited me to celebrate my birthday! We have had a lot of fun and even got time to visit a museum here in Gothenburg (with thousands of stuffed animals) , the kids was so excited and ran around looking at everything. Then we made a tasty vanilla sponge cake with raspberries and whipped cream! A very nice birthday indeed!

My Tennyson

I remembered that I promised to show my Tennyson doll house, so here is some pictures! I have built the fist and second floor here and painted the window trims for the inside walls.

And here my Tennyson starts to look like a house. I am thinking of using a withe color for the walls and lavender lilac and light blue for the trims and porch. I am also going to give the house a dark grey stone foundation and grey tiles to the roof. Theres a lot to to and sometimes I wish I had a couple of weeks free from studies to only work on my Tennyson and on new miniatures!

Last but not least I missed to show you guys my little gingerbread house for Christmas. It is all made in polymer clay and the tiny non-stops (a Swedish brand like m & m's) took a while to make :)

Right now I am also working on some valentine miniature sweets which makes my mouth watering (: I will show them in my next post here.

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! Here in Sweden the snow never seems to stop falling, the lanskape which I see from my window is magic and sparcly white! But it is only enjoyable if one stays inside ;) ... it´s blowing up to storm.

Princess pastries

Hi everybody! Sorry that it has gone so long since my last post. I have so much in scool right now, and with Christmas coming up soon (: I do really love Christmas!

here are some minis I have made! These are the Swedish well known Princess pastries. It is made with green marzipan on top and wipped cream, strawberry jam and vanilla custard as filling. When it is made as a cake it is known as Prinsess tårta.

För ca ett år sedan spelade jag in ett avsnitt i programmet Philofix, där jag gör miniatyrer. Ni kan hitta klippet på den här länken Mitt bidrag är ungefär i mitten av programmet :)

När jag spelade in det här, spelade jag även in när jag gör en cheese-cake och visar upp olika tittskåp, men tyvärr har de inte med det i programmet, det kanske kommer i ett senare program.

Blueberry pastries

Here is some blueberry pastries with whipped cream that I have made. Now I only wish they where in scale 1:1 and real (: ... I looove sweets! These are made in polymer clay and liquid fimo in 1:12 scale, they are about 1 cm in diameter.

Recently I also started a new project, I have finally started to build the doll-house from Greenleaf that I won in a competition at CDHM last Summer. It is the two storage Tennyson house and I will try to take photos of the ongoing project and share it with you!

So I will show both my miniature food and my building and decorating project here from now on :)

Flowery Wonky cake

I think wonky cakes are so wonderful, and not very common in Sweden! Here is a miniature flowery Wonky cake I made. The tiny flowers took ages to make... I don´t have any mini cookie cutters so they all are sculpted painfully individually (: But I like the result and wouldn't mind having this cake for my birthday in real size!

How fast the time pases by! I have been very busy lately with studies and miniatures, this Saturday I will teach a class over at CDHM on how to make peeled miniature oranges with peels!

Here is a watermelon board with a lasting summer feeling. Looking out of my window I can´t keep from wondering if the last summer days is over... I can even see some yellow leafs falling! But looking on the bright side, I love those autumn days when one can stay inside, watching a good movie with a cup of tea and good companionship. Or creating new miniature pieces without having a bad conscience about missing the warm sunny weather outside!

Ruhbarb Pie

One of my favorite desserts is Ruhbarb Pie, I love the fresh taste of the rhubard in combination with sweet vanilla sause!

Well I haven´t actually eaten this for a long time, since I try to not eat to much sweet stuff ;)

I bought the cooling rack not long ago, I love how delicate and real it looks! I think I must buy more of them to display cookies and bunt cakes on

Banana cream cake in the making

Here is a banana cream cake in the making!
I made the old fashioned bowl to and I think it turned out well to be one of my first.

For me this kind of cake brings back memories of my childhood birthdays.

My mum used to make either banana cream cake or strawberry cream cake :)

Cooking plums in miniature

Hello everybody! I am really longing for summer when I will have more time to spend on my miniatures, there are so many ideas waiting in line for me to make! Right now I am writing on my final exam in Sociology, but my mind constantly wanders away to new miniature ideas (:

A peak at my workspace

Here is my workspace! So now you now where all minatures are made (; I have got the half kitchen table! It is not a big problem, me and my husband often eat in the living room (: he don't mind since the miniatures makes me so happy and peaceful (:

I bought the organizer a while ago at a hardware chain. When I saw it at the shelve, I knew immediately that it would be perfect for my clay, tools and miniatures! It was the last one they had so I was really happy when I got it, It have solved a lot of problems and saved space for the kitchen table!

I also share my work space .... with my cat, Tiger! If he fails to take the chair before me in the morning, he always lies on my lap while I am sculpturing and he is so cute I cant lift him down!

Don´t you think he looks like he is surfing the internet :) ?

Donuts, Doughnuts, Munkar!

It is a lovely day here in Sweden, the sun is shining and the trees has started to bloom! I love the spring, it is so full of opportunity's and the summer lays ahead!

At this Sunday I attended a tutorial over at CDHM, where Stephanie Kilgast showed how to make donuts! This was lots of fun, and very addicting... ones started I did not want to stop! Here are my donuts (: (in Swedish called munkar)

Det har varit en underbar dag här i Sverige, solen skiner och träden har börjat få grönska! Jag älskar verkligen våren, den är full av möjligheter och så ligger hela sommaren framför en!

Cupcakes, cake and cheesecake!

First of all, I would like to welcome all new blog-readers! I really appriciate all my readers, so I am planing to have a give away soon ( I am working on a something I think you would like!)

Finally I got time to photograph my latest miniatures! I made my first miniature cupcakes and loved to make them, so I will make a lot more of them! The bunny cupcake where ment to be a ester cupcake (: a little bit late though.. But I wanted to show it, sense I think it is cute (:

I also made a cheesecake toped with red currants, bananas, a orange slice and a star fruit, I only wished it where in real size! ( as you might have noticed, I love sweet stuff)

Last of all I made a easter themed cake with two layer of rich chocolate (:

Going bananas ^^

Here comes my latest miniatures, lately there have been a lot of bananas, which now is on their way to the other side of the world! Bananas has actually grown on me since I started making them in miniature, possibly as a result of all up close studying of them. I didnt really like them before but now I do, they are so creamy and has such a neat texture inside ^^ ! I also made the cutting board to look like marble, I made it by mixing different shades of gray ant putting the clay stripes together and then pulling and flattening the clay several times, I think the result is pretty OK for one of the first.

I have also made more breads, here is an basket with assorted breads. I am enjoying to work with the texture and color in them, there will definitely be more bread baking here! I am thinking about some corn breads and hole grain breads..

I am also working on two white chocolate cakes, one with easter theme and one romantic with red roses, now if there where only more time .. :)

Some favorites of mine

These are some favorite of mine for a soft evening with my husband, so I thought I had to make them in miniature. I am pleased with how the baguette turned out, and these grapes. Its usually hard to get the color and transparency right in grapes, I use fimo transparent withe and mix it with green and then in the oven they always change color. So you have to count with the color-change and think ahead (:

I made the star fruit with caning technique and I tried to make the brie a bit creamy, in the way I like it (:

Chirstmas atmosphere

Caning technique

This week have been full of work since I am writing my examination essay now, and I also tryes to make miniatures in the pauses (: ... because I cant resist!

Right now I am working on my caning technique, I am making strawberries, bananas and starfruits! You might think the starfruits would be hardest but I think its the strawberries... they have to be so perfectly symetric to look good! I dont have any pictures of my canes yet so I thought that I could post some older pictures which I forgot to post here.

This red cabbage is also done with caning technique and took ages to make .. so I have alot of red cabbages laying around (: . The leek is also done this whay!

Since I have been in a "fruit-mood" lately I made this oranges, and had a lot of fun photografing them on real oranges!

Eftersom att jag varit på inne på frukt mycket på sistonne så prövade jag även att göra apelsiner, här har jag haft kul och fottat dem på riktiga apelsiner!

I haven´t done any miniature scene for the organges yet, I am thinking about making a boal with fruit sallad, do you have any other suggestions ?

Banana and chocolate dome cake!

This weekend I finally got some miniature-time! I had a lot of ideas but one of them I just had to try first! I saw a wonderful miniature banana made by a japanese miniaturist, and since I love challenges I just had to make one myself, even if it would take my hole weekend (;

Here is my banana, as you can see it is very tiny. It takes a lot of patiens to make so small miniatures, but it is so peaceful and fun!

I helgen fick jag äntligen tid över till miniatyrer! Jag hade mängder av idéer, men en av dem var jag bara tvungen att pröva först! Jag såg nämligen en underbar miniatyr-banan gjord av en japansk miniatyrist och eftersom att jag älskar utmaningar var jag tvungen att göra en själv, även om det skulle ta hela helgen (;

Här är en bild på min banan, som ni kan se är den väldigt liten. Det tar mycket tålamod att göra så små miniatyrer men jag tycker det är avkopplande och roligt!

I also made this preparation board where a chocolate-banana dome cake is beeing made. Its made of rich dark chocolate, Lindh excellence in 85 % cacao (: ! Everything is made in polymer clay in 1:12 scale, accept the box which is a printabel from my new subscription, miniaturas.

Jag gjorde även ett bakbord med choklad/banan "dome"-cake. Den är gjord av fyllig mörk choklad, Lindh excellence med 85 % cakao (:! Allt är gjort i polymer-lera i skala 1:12, förutom lådan som är en printable från min nya prenumeration av miniaturas!

Pumpkins and Candy

I made this halloween pumpkin filled with lollipops this weekend, when I finely got time! I think it looks a bit evil. I really enjoyed making this, even if the tiny lollipops gave me headache (=

A wonky cake

I Have been really busy lately making a website where I am going to sell some o my
miniatures. I really enjoy making them and theres no more room for them at my home (= so why not? It a lot to work on but I think it will be done in the begining of september.

Here is a topsy turvy cake ( also named wonky cake or mad hatter cake) I made. I think they are so fun to make!

På senaste tiden har jag verkligen haft mycket att göra. Just nu gör jag en hemsida där jag kommer visa och sälja miniatyrer, både miniatyrmat och några miniatyr djur. Det är så kul att skulpturera miniatyrer men nu finns det knappt plats hemma längre (= så varför inte ?

Här är en topsy-turvy tårta även kallad "wonky cake" eller "mad hatter cake" som jag gjort, verkligen roliga att göra!

Summer Wedding Cake

This is a cake I made for the CDHM contest. It was a lot of talented people participating who made wonderul cakes!

My cake is filled whith oranges at the first tier and lemons att the second tier. Each tier also have different tastes, one oranges, one lemon and one with lime and vanilla.
I am pleased with the result and it was really fun to make. I thinking about making more wedding cakes with color schemes.

Den här tårtan gjorde jag till CDHMs tävling.
De olika våningarna vilar på apelsiner och citroner som jag gjort. De olika lagren har även olika smak av apelsin, citron och översta lagret av lime och vanilj.

Det var verkligen roligt att göra den och jag blev nöjd med resultatet. Så jag funderar på att göra fler bröllopstårtor med olika färgteman, ska ta en kik på Martha Stewarts tårtor för att hämta inspiration.

CDHM-anniversary contest!

I sculpted this dog for the canine category of the CDHM- anniversary contest, and won first place in my category and in Best animal show!!! I am so happy! I couldn´t post any picture beore the cometition was done.

Den här hunden skupturerade jag och deltog i CDHMs internationella jubeleums tävling och så vann jag fösta pris i kategorin för hundar och sedan även första pris i "best animal show" !!! Jag är otroligt glad! Jag har inte kunnat posta några bilder förren nu, då tävlingen är färdig.

Här är min hund sittande i en matkällare, hon heter Doris och drömmer nog om alla delikatesser!

Chocolate!

Jag älskar verkligen choklad, det finns få saker som är mer njutbara än en läcker chokladtryffel till kaffet. De här är några jag prövat att göra i miniatyr, de med vit choklad i mitten tycker jag ser godast ut (= vad tycker ni?

För att välkomna mina två nya bloggföljare har jag även gjort en tårta med choklad tema, en med trippel lager av olika choklad, Välkomna Anama och Janne!

I realy do love chocolate, there is no better than a tasty chocolate truffle with some good coffee!

I tried to make som truffles in miniature, I think the ones in the middle in white chocolate look most tasty, what do you think?

Äppelpaj / Apple pie

Klassisk äppelpaj på gång här! Allt utom handduken, mjölet och kniven är i fimolera, de tunna äppelskivorna har jag gjort från en egen äppel-cane. På pajen till vänster har jag strött lite kanel så de doftar gott också (=

Citron maräng paj / Lemon pie

När jag fikade med en god vän för ett par dagar sedan smakade jag på citron-maräng paj för första gången, och måste säga att det var det godaste jag ätit på länge. Sedan tycker jag att de ser väldigt läckra ut också, så jag bestämde mig för att pröva att göra dem i miniatyr. De här är gjorda på två helt skilda sätt, till pajen på de två första bilderna har jag använt en slags fogmassa som maräng medans pajen på de nedre bilderna har jag använt fimolera och format till.

Vilken variant blev bäst tycker ni?

I realy love this pie in real life, its very tasty and looks so to! I used two diffrent technics to make Theese lemon meringue pies, which one do you like the most, the first one or the last one?

På den här bloggen har jag tänkt lägga upp bilder på de miniatyrer jag skapar och dela med mig av denna underbara hobby.

Jag har upptäckt att det är väldigt roligt att arbeta i lera, mediumet har liksom inga begränsningar.

De här två cheesecake´sen prövade jag att knåpa ihop. Det blev ganska bra så det blir nog fler sådana framöver, kanske någon med blåbär?
